It is our honor and privilege to welcome you to the launch of The Central New York Inclusion Conference 2010 (CNYIC). This year's conference theme is “Focusing on Inclusion, Producing Innovative Thinking, Driving Global Success. Central New York is the heart and economic core of New York State, thus creating tremendous opportunities to leverage inclusion as a catalyst for definitive economic, educational, professional, and social transformation. We are excited for the region and extremely fortunate to have an occasion to present a world class conference experience. We recognize the challenging complexities that we are faced with and are encouraged to be purposefully dedicated toward developing an inclusive environment to most effectively address them.
The Central New York Inclusion Conference is designed to provide breakthrough moments, and engage in courageous conversations that will share innovative ideas and illuminate emerging strategies based on empirical data, industry trends, and best practices. We acknowledge that diversity continues to be one of most critical and complex business issues that communities and organizations face in this new global landscape. Conversely, it is possible to have diversity and not have inclusion, but when you embrace inclusion, it embodies diversity and its tangible and intangible benefits, which is why we chose to focus on the latter in order to achieve the former. From the conceptual onset, we have sought to create a value added conference experience that would address issues around inclusion that are germane to the Greater Central New York Region. In addition, we believe that a key driver of change is continuous engagement. To that end, following this conference, attendees will be invited to participate in a series of activities on a quarterly basis consisting of ongoing learning opportunities and collaborative dialogues that would provide reinforcement and fodder for future conferences.
